Features and sound
In the current “multi-channel age”, in which the number of speakers in the home cinema range increases rapidly and one speaks of 7.1 or even 11.1 systems, the question arises which speakers should be chosen for such applications.
In addition to high neutrality and sound quality, not too large dimensions, as well as some reserves in volume, the price also plays an important role.
For this reason, we decided to develop a light version that delivers a similar performance to BIJOU 170, but can clearly score at the price.
Also used here are a 17 cm bass driver, the W 170 S – 8 Ohm, as well as a 25 mm calotte, the SC 10 N – 8 Ohm, in order not to fear high dynamic peaks and sound pressure levels.
The BIJOU 170 LIGHT is also preferably used as a wall/shelf loudspeaker.
This was achieved equally with a slightly increasing frequency response up to about 1000 Hz.
Thus, all important criteria for use in multichannel systems are met.
The BIJOU 170 LIGHT is available individually and can thus be used as a normal stereo system, but also as a center, front and effect loudspeaker, supported by a subwoofer, excellently in a home cinema system also of greater design.
It is recommended to declare the loudspeakers as “small” and to provide them with a high-pass filter (60 – 100 Hz) to achieve maximum performance.
