Features and sound

Knownly, there are two types of loudspeaker boxes: hi-fi boxes that are about highest playback, and musicians or disco boxes that are bred to the highest volume.
This volume can generally only be realized with horns, which unfortunately often cause sound discoloration.
The MONITOR 890 MK III is intended to bring these two goals "under one".
In the middle tone range, a driver horn unit operates, which has already caused amazement in view of its dynamics and discoloration scarcity.
Two high-end tweeters TIW 300 - 8 Ohm create a physically perceptible bass print in the 180 l bass reflex housing, as it is used by music boxes.
In combination with the excellent TL 16 H - 8 Ohm high-tone horn, a loudspeaker combination has been created which raises the unbridgeable contrast between hi-fi and professional boxes.

The level of the medium and the tweeter can be adapted to the operating conditions of the loudspeakers by means of level controllers.
As a basic setting, we recommend the following setting of level controllers: high tone: -4 dB; medium tone: -4 dB.
These settings can be changed depending on room acoustics and hearing habits.
The frequency diverter of the MONITOR 890 MK III contains an impedance linearization, so that it is also suitable for operation at critical amplifiers (z.B. Tube end stages) is ideally suited.
This kit contains the Mitteltonhorn M 300 (Material: MDF raw).
It can also be equipped with the horn TL 300 MH (material: beech multiplex) (see MONITOR 890 MK III-TL ).
Both versions are identical.
