Features and sound

Six TI 100 - 8 Ohm and a KE 25 SC - 8 Ohm installed in a housing mix of horn and transmission line.
This is something special in many ways, something else.
The development effort was also particularly high.
Rarely, there was a project that had to be rebuilt as often as possible and optimized as much as possible.
Especially the development of the frequency switch was complicated, as there is a strong interaction with the damping in the bass area, which is why both had to be adapted together.
The claim to the builder is also particularly high, so we would like to explicitly recommend the construction of the housing only for experienced self-builders, this is definitely not an entry-level project.
Alternatively, the construction is recommended by a professional carpenter.
The cabling is not quite trivial due to the high number of chassis, but can be implemented with a little basic knowledge.

Anyone who goes to the construction of this loudspeaker will be rewarded abundantly, both visually and acoustically.
Imposingly due to the unavoidable height, the narrow front nevertheless gives an uncommon ease, significantly more than the dimensions suggest.
The hollow base of the box picks up the frequency flue and brings the tweeter to the usual ear height.
The distance of the chassis allows both an optimal functioning of the housing as well as an appealing optics and a quite accurate attachment to the D’Appolito principle.
Four of the TI 100 - 8 ohms are used exclusively in low tone.
The membrane surface comparable to a 20 cm chassis does not have to worry about dynamic reserves and the level strength.
Two further TI 100 - 8 ohms function as a pure mid-tone, while the high-tone calotte KE 25 SC - 8 ohm forms the optical and acoustic center.
In order to avoid mutual influencing of the coils, the frequency diverter was distributed over two circuit boards which are spatially separated from one another.
Due to the series connection of the middle toners, resistances for level adjustment could be dispensed with in this branch; only the tweeter has to be braked a little.
Only absolutely necessary parts were installed and, with the exception of the low-tone branch, correction branches could be dispensed with, as a result of which the component outlay for a three-way box holds very within limits.
The separation frequency between high and medium tone was selected to be so low with 2100 Hertz that, in conjunction with the edge steepness of the third-order filter (18 dB filter), the membrane resonances of the TI 100 - 8 ohm have no negative influence.
Thanks to the very linear sound pressure and impedance frequency response of the ceramic kalotte KE 25 SC - 8 Ohm, the latter could be optimally coupled via a deliberately simple 12 dB filtering and can play out their superb properties uninhibited.
As a result of the very deep separation of 180 Hertz between the mid-tone and bass range, it is achieved that the positionable frequencies are emitted almost exclusively from the closely adjacent chassis of the mid-tone/high-tone unit.
In addition, the usual resonance tendency of bass horns in the middle tone is minimized because critical frequencies are already filtered by the frequency diverter and thus hardly excited in the horn.
Thus, the necessary damping in favor of bass playback could be significantly more economical than with a higher separation.
The pure, undefeated sound plays at reference level, the faithfulness of detail and clarity are frapping.
Such a dissolution is difficult to overwrite, you hear every little subtlety, nothing is swallowed or covered.
Nonetheless, the details shown do not work or expressively, they are simply there.
It seems contradictory that even the smallest information can be reproduced in the sound and yet easily overheared.
Only in the event of active listening are they to be discovered because they are not artificially and covered in the foreground but are clearly and in the best sense of course arriving at the auditorium.
But you don't have to try to hear these nuances, they are easily audible and not just to guess.
This allows even very long hearing without symptoms of fatigue.
Voices are reproduced plastically and completely batchless.
Bad recordings can also be identified as such for unskilled ears.
There are no perceptible discolorations, the sound is analytical but not cold.
The high tone is clear, fast and precise but never sharp or covered.
When the sound material originates from a good mastering, it glitters and sparkles when it is intended and can chase waves of geese skin over the body.
The dry, deep bass surprised; so much volume you do not dare such a narrow box and the small bass chassis.
Nonetheless, the bass is not thick or too much, it tends to be exact and contoured and contrasts with the trend towards boom boxes with covered basses.
However, it should not be underestimated at any time.
A lot of air can be moved.
If it is necessary to press the four TI 100 - 8 Ohm incredibly much deep-tone energy into the room.
The inclined receiver can experiment with the optional wool mats in the Hornmund and thereby adapt the bass to the personal taste or its space.
In terms of measurement, the version is best, in which the two optional pieces are introduced, but in the hearing test the version was better in our auditorium without this option.
The level strength also ensures surprised ears, the limit is far beyond traditional use.
Above all, the sound image remains extremely stable and completely untrained from loud to quiet.
Thus, dynamic jumps are reproduced to be true to the original, the stage does not disintegrate when something goes on.
The TriniTI always plays unimpregnated and serves the builder the acoustic food as it is played.
To the suffering of neighbors, this leads to the fact that the volume control is turned up far because this loudspeaker signals that there is more.
Nevertheless, its strength is clear in fine drawing and resolution.
Rarely one hears such a neutral loudspeaker, which always remains perfectly tunable over the entire playback and volume range, and nevertheless puts an enormous joy of play on the day.
The precision and attack make powerful joy but never become annoying or overly irritating.
Therefore you can enjoy both very quiet but also very loud music.
This speaker is just fun.
