Features and sound

The VOX 253 is known to be a box with extraordinary qualities.
Although it is quite slender, one or the other (or better: one or the other) wishes to be more inconspicuous.
Designing a smaller box with comparable properties is a great challenge.
The prerequisite for this is to maintain all important characteristics when reducing the dimensions.
This means: tweeter in the side wall, D'Appolito arrangement of two cone chassis with metal membrane and calotte tweeter in the middle.
As a bass loudspeaker, the excellent AL 200 - 8 Ohm and as a tweeter the G 20 SC - 8 Ohm, which has already been proven in the COUPLET.
A 10 cm high-end shower chassis with metal membrane had to be developed.
After a long period of development, a very excellent low-middle tone with a cone of pure titanium was created, which is at least equal to the AL 130 - 8 ohm.
All housing dimensions of the large VOX have been reduced by the same amount and has come out a small standbox to be called almost petite: the VOX 200.

The takeover frequencies of 200 Hz and 3000 Hz have been maintained.
Above all, the generously dimensioned bass reflex tunnel is also available.
Thus, all conditions are given for a worthy little sister of the VOX 253.
Of course, the VOX 200 can't keep up when it comes to brutal deep bass attacks that put the 253 loosely away.
This is often not necessary and desired in rooms of normal size.
In any case, the little box does not dare the bass power to which it is actually capable, even until it has been heard.
Smaller speakers are more advantageous in the medium and high-tone range.
So with the VOX 200: The sound dissolves perfectly from the sound wall and forms a stable, completely level-resistant sound image in the room without discoloration.
The G 20 SC - 8 Ohm also proves once again what beautiful pearling height reproduction is capable of without any sharpness.
If you can't really be friends with big boxes, you should listen to the VOX 200!
