Features and sound
Objective Visaton-Ingenieure was to develop a loudspeaker box that dissolves both from the design and from the sound image of the well-known products.
The name “Zyklop” originates from Greek mythology and describes powerful forms with an extraordinary feature, a single eye on the forehead.
This concise detail was implemented in the cyklop in the form of the high-end wide band B 80 - 8 ohm and separated by the raised position from the second part of the housing.
The powerful performance is represented by the extremely high-end tweeter TIW 200 XS - 8 Ohm.
Acoustically, the cyklop is distinguished by a homogeneous and Visaton-typically very linear frequency response.
The widebands B 80 - 8 ohm used ensures a high level of detail from a takeover range of about 270 Hz, as well as a precise medium and high-tone reproduction without overshot action.
The main reason for this is the fact that the entire tuning range is represented by only one speaker.
The high-end tweeter TIW 200 XS - 8 Ohm in conjunction with a sophisticated bass reflex system ensures a starting liveliness and a necessary foundation.
The bass reflex system designed as a channel sits in a tricky manner between the two loudspeaker chassis and serves simultaneously as a spacer between the two housings. The considerable lower limit frequency of 30 Hz is not true of the quite compact cyklop.
Thanks to the perfectly adapted soft-tuning, however, it offers more than enough space for plentiful power reserves without losing attention to detail.
